Rising Tide Co-op

Everyone is welcome at Rising Tide Co-op! We are a cooperatively owned grocery store in downtown Damariscotta, Maine, with more than 5,000 member owners. Rising Tide is open to anyone who wants to shop, regardless of membership status. We’re open 7 days a week from 8am - 8pm, Monday-Saturday, and 8am - 6pm on Sunday. We carry a large variety of food and other goods from local producers, supporting more than 250 Maine-based businesses.

Rising Tide started as a small, community-based health food buying club in 1978 and has expanded into the community food leader it is today, offering prepared foods, craft beer, wine, local meats, artisanal cheeses, baked goods, fresh produce, gifts, wellness products, and other goods and provisions.

Access to healthy food for all is very important to us, so we offer several ways to save while shopping, including regular sales through Co-op Deals, Fresh Deals, Line Drive Sales, Co-op Basics, and our Savvy Shopper Tips. We also offer savings through case and bulk discounts. For those who participate in federal nutrition programs, we accept EBT and participate in Farm Fresh Rewards and offer a 10% discount on purchases for member owners receiving SNAP, WIC, SSI, or Pell Grant benefits.

We are also deeply committed to our community with programs like Loving Local Meals, which supports 6 area food pantries. Every week, kitchen staff and a group of volunteers cook and pack 300 healthy, hot meals. The program’s goal is to provide community members in need with food that is sourced from small local producers, as much as possible.
